Privacy Policy

📌 1. How the app works

BudgetPop stores your budgets, categories, transactions, monthly snapshots, and preferences locally on your device. Calculations and formatting happen on-device.

🗂️ 2. Data we handle

On your device (never leaves the phone)

• Budgets and categories.
• Transactions/expenses you enter.
• Monthly snapshots and derived totals.
• Preferences: styles, display options, and other settings.

In-app purchases

• Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store payment information or personal data (name, email, payment method).
• Apple issues an encrypted receipt we validate to confirm your active purchase or subscription.

RevenueCat (receipt management)

RevenueCat processes in-app purchases through the App Store and validates receipts. RevenueCat receives:

• An anonymous App User ID generated by the SDK.
• App Store receipts and purchased products (subscription identifier, start/expiration dates, status).
• Purchase metadata and minimal technical data for fraud prevention and device context (iOS platform, SDK version).

We do not send RevenueCat your name, email, or other personal data. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy for details.

Apple App Store

Purchases are processed through Apple. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for details.

🚫 3. What we do NOT do

• No advertising or third-party trackers.
• No selling, renting, or sharing your data with third parties.
• No access to your contacts or location.

🧹 4. Retention and control

• Local data: kept until you uninstall the app or use a reset option (if available) in Settings.
• Purchases: Apple receipts and RevenueCat anonymous IDs are retained while your subscription is active and according to their policies.
• iCloud: if enabled, backups are managed by Apple and can be removed from your iOS settings.

🔐 5. Security

Your local data is protected by iOS security measures. RevenueCat processes receipts over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is hosted on industry-standard compliant infrastructure.

🧒 6. Children’s privacy

The app is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

⚖️ 7. Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)

• Contract/performance: to deliver the app features you choose to use (local budgets, categories, and display options).
• Legitimate interest: to prevent fraud and validate purchases via Apple receipts and RevenueCat.

🧾 8. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, UK or similar jurisdictions, you can request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data. Because we keep nearly all data on-device and process purchases through Apple/RevenueCat, you can:

• Delete local data by uninstalling the app or using a reset option (if available) in Settings.
• Contact Apple for purchase history linked to your Apple ID.
• Reach us at hola@miguelpg.com; we will coordinate with RevenueCat if needed.

🌍 9. International transfers

RevenueCat may process purchase receipts in the United States or other countries. They apply safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required. Apple processes payments under its own terms and privacy policy.

🔁 10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in functionality or payment providers. We will post the latest update date and notify in-app if a change is material.
